From an empty building to a proper school in 3 years.
Despite lockdown, red tape and so much resistance. I am so proud of every person who had a hand in helping the children. THERE IS NO BETTER SUPPORT THAN TELLING SOMEONE YOU BELIEVE IN THEIR CAPACITY AND THAT THEY DESERVE BETTER.
Not only does the school now have water and electricity, gas, a french drain and flushing toilets, they also have a classroom, fully functional kitchen and office. They are now preparing meals for the children, which they never dreamed of doing. They have grown from 25 to 47 pupils and, best of all…
WITH ALL THESE ADDED BENEFITS, THE BOARD HAS DECIDED TO PAY IT FORWARD AND LET THE SCHOOLFEES REMAIN AT R100 PER MONTH PER CHILD!!!
I am so proud of the staff that stuck through thick and thin, the principal who found her voice and now owns the property (GIRL POWER!)… so so proud and grateful for all the support. There were so many people who played a role in getting the creche where they are. The ecobrick project that was started by Ari 3 years ago and also recently supported by Ty and Dru from Trash-A-Haulics, who are doing an amazing job at recycling. These three boys are our future role models to look out for 
Thank you so much to, among others, the people and organisations below for your support. We are not done. We still need a basin and we are starting the sustainable vegetable garden and we need a better flooring solution for the kids, to name a few, BUT we have come such a long way! Please pat yourselves on the back and give yourselves a big social distancing fistbump/hug from us!!!
